The buddhist way of life“
After being enlightened, Buddha lived for another 45 years. In
those years he taught anyone who desired to develop inner comfort
and balance, how to achieve a happy and sustainable life.

Meditation – in harmony with ourselves and with our environment
Step by step we learn how to calm our mind. With a little patience
and practise we will soon achieve a state of physical and mental
relaxation. We will be enabled to live a calm and simple life without
despair. Wherever we will go , we can experience peace.
Meditation can also dispel our fear of death – after regular
practise we will recognise the nature of reality and can release
ourselves from various fears. More and more we will develop inner
qualities.
The practise of meditation will result in kindness, compassion,
wisdom as well as life-satisfaction.
Batuwangala Samiddhi teaches various kinds of meditation, so that
everyone can find their own personal approach to it.
Cultivating buddhist tradition and cultural events
Buddhism is not solely a religion or philosophy but a way of life.
There are a number of buddhist traditions such as Vesak in May when
Buddhas birthday, enlightenment and death is honoured. Another
festivity is the Kathina ceremony, in which the monks are given a new
robe.
We attach value to cultivate and celebrate these traditions.
